Chandrashekar B U
Chandrashekar B. U. is a technology professional based in Bengaluru, India, with over three decades of experience in telecommunications, wireless systems, and digital hardware design since 1993.
He is a scientist at Synopsys, where he works on high-speed interface IP and semiconductor design technologies. Earlier in his career, he contributed to the development of large-scale indigenous telecommunications systems at C-DOT (Centre for Development of Telematics).
He holds a Master’s degree in Electronics from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, and a Bachelor’s degree from R.V. College of Engineering. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and a member of the European Society for Astronomy in Culture (SEAC). In 2025, he presented his research on the relationship between astronomy, culture, and symbolism at the SEAC annual conference. He has also authored numerous technical papers and holds several U.S. patents.
Beyond his professional work, Chandrashekar has long been fascinated by the meeting point of science and philosophy, with a particular interest in the dialogue between ancient Indian thought and modern scientific inquiry. His books include Astronomy in Ancient Indian Belief Systems, Energy Becoming Mind: From the Big Bang to the Human Mind, Yājñavalkya’s Vision (Kannada + English):- all available on Google Books.

Chandrashekar B U (BU) follows the above golden words as his motto in life. BU has lived in Bangalore, Karnataka, India since his childhood.
Academics:
He completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics from RV college and obtained his Master of Engineering from ECE Dept. of Indian Institute of Science in 1993.
Career:
He started his career in 1993 at Centre for development of telematics, in a team that developed the largest telephone exchange in India.
Since 2000, BU is working in various roles at Synopsys. He is currently a Scientist in IIP R&D team. He has published technical papers in international journals and holds two US patents. Through Synopsys, he is associated with several NGOs where he interacts with children and helps them in developing scientific temperament.
BU has a large network of friends, many of them who go way back to his gnana bodhini primary school days. He is an avid reader and appreciates all genres of books. He is a movie buff. He loves listening to Indian music of yesteryears. He loves to play cricket, especially wicket-keeping. He enjoys spending time with his friends and family. He can interact with anyone and strike a chord with a one-year child as well as a ninety-year-old.
